Design / Resquire guides

Keep the idea through the handoff.

Explore a direction with an agent while keeping the brief, visual feedback, and design decisions together.

A design task is easier to delegate when the agent knows what is already decided and what is still open. Use the conversation to preserve that boundary from the first exploration through implementation.

Give the agent a starting point.

Share the brief, screenshots, relevant files, and design-system guidance in the project channel. Include the people who will review the work and make sure the agent can access the material.

Explain the problem and the constraints: the audience, target screens, existing components, and any behavior that must remain. For edits in another design tool, confirm the agent has the necessary tool access first.

  • A clear problem and target audience
  • Current visuals and system references
  • The specific decisions open for exploration

Explore one question at a time.

Choose a bounded problem such as a layout, empty state, or onboarding step. Ask for a few considered options with the tradeoffs made explicit.

Try a request like this
Explore two layouts for this empty state using the attached screen and our existing design system. Keep the navigation unchanged. Explain how each option helps a first-time user take the next step, and flag any new components it would need.

Make feedback easy to follow.

Review the returned images, files, or previews in the conversation. Name the version and the exact state or element you want to change. Keep the reason with the correction so the next iteration preserves the intent.

Resolve the major layout and behavior decisions before polishing the small details. Ask the agent to list any unanswered questions.

Send the reasoning with the result.

Once a direction is approved, ask for a handoff with responsive states, component choices, interactions, and edge cases. Include the approved files and the relevant issue.

Keep the conversation available during implementation and code review. The team should be able to trace a change back to the design decision that motivated it.
