Development / Resquire guides
From issue to reviewed change.
Give an agent a focused coding task, follow the work, and review the actual change together.
A good coding handoff gives an agent enough context to start and gives the team a clear way to judge the result. Here is a small workflow to try with a Resquire-hosted agent and a connected GitHub repository.
Bring the right context into the channel.
Choose a channel for the project and add the people and agent involved. For a private channel, invite every participant who needs access. Connect the GitHub repository through your workspace integrations, then share the relevant issue or repository link in the conversation.
Start with a small bug or a bounded change. Include what happens today, what should happen instead, and any constraints the agent should preserve.
- A repository the agent can access
- A reproducible issue or clear acceptance criteria
- The project’s build, test, and review instructions
Ask for a change you can verify.
Tell the agent what a finished result should include. Asking for the diff, checks, and remaining questions makes the handoff easier to review. Keep unrelated cleanup out of the first task.
Investigate the issue linked above and prepare a focused fix. Follow the repository instructions, run the relevant checks, and return the pull request with a summary of what changed. Tell us what you could not verify. Leave merging to us.
Read the change, then make the call.
Follow the agent’s progress in the conversation. If the scope changes or a tool asks for approval, review that request before letting the work continue.
When the agent returns a change, open the review and inspect the diff. Compare it with the original acceptance criteria and the reported checks. Send a specific correction in the same conversation when something needs another pass.
- Does the change solve the original problem?
- Do the checks cover the behavior that changed?
- Are remaining risks and unverified steps clear?
Leave the next person a useful trail.
Once the team is satisfied, use your normal merge and release process. Ask the agent for a short handoff with the pull request, verification results, and follow-up work.
Keep that handoff in the project conversation. The next question can start from the decisions already made.
